Meat.Up.FFire just held its sixth meeting, in Poland, at the Warsaw School of Economics. Due to an excellent organisation by the Polish Team, the partners further advanced in their investigation of the Pork value chain, with an interesting debate on the national case studies. The Polish case study gave a broad picture of the employment terms and conditions within the largest pork producer in Poland – Animex. The examination of the Danish pork industry was enriched by two case studies, which dealt with work on a pig farm and on a slaughterhouse. Italy focused on the complicated case of the Castelfrigo, and as for Belgium the group dwelt on the joint liability scheme that shield the wages of the employees of the meat industry. Now, looking forward to the next meeting in Urbino (Italy) in November!
